We have added an extra day of competition this year with competition beginning on Tuesday 6th August with an Any Handed class.

Don't forget the Black Mountain Silver Ranch and Ranch Versatility Series. Entry to the State Show in these events are a must to compete for the highly coveted Buckle custom designed by Geoff Hutson from Black Mountain Silver.

Bump in is from from Friday 2nd August. This is gearing up to be a big show - we have just been advised that a lot of the camping has been sold and QSEC is bringing in generators and opening the overflow camping to comfortably fit all of the competitors and their supporters. For those that haven't booked their camping & stables yet - try Nominate.com.au first - and if you have any questions, phone the friendly QSEC staff who will be able to help you. The last few years when the camping & stables were full - a number of competitors went across to the Caboolture Show Grounds next door and QSEC opened the gate to allow easy access between the two facilities. Feedback was this worked really well and the Competitors felt they had the best of both worlds.

Warren Backhouse has just agreed to assist competitors with final preparation by running a reining clinic Friday 2nd & Saturday 3rd of August. The Clinic is sponsored by QRHA and Backhouse Training Stables and will be available for the bargain price of $300 per rider. Grab the chance to train in the pen you will compete in - under one of the top trainers (& most successful Reiner) in Australia. BOOK HERE.

QRHA is putting on one final show to assist competitors with their preparation, held at the newly resurfaced Burpengary Equestrian Centre. We have managed to secure Scott Burnett to put on a clinic at this show. Scott has many State and National reining championships under his belt and dominated in the 2018 QLD State championships taking home Buckles in the Junior Horse, Novice Horse and all 3 classes of the Derby aboard Smokin Sheriff. Burnett Performance Horses domination continued on a National scale against the best horses & riders in the country when Scott won the RA Limited Open Derby aboard Smokin Sheriff (139.5) at last years National Championships and went on to take out Reserve Champion at the prestigious Equitana Australian Open Reining Championships. A few riding positions are still available and can be booked online HERE or on the QRHA website.

We are all looking forward to this years State Show. Please remember it is all volunteers that put on this show - and it is not possible without the support of our generous sponsors - many of whom are riding next to you in the Show Pen!!. Please support their businesses by liking and sharing their social media posts and considering our sponsors when making any purchasing decisions.

See you at the show!!
